Hot Water Extraction (Steam Cleaning) Carpet Cleaning

As part of our deep 7 stage cleaning process, hot water extraction (steam cleaning) provides the deepest of Carpet Cleaning methods.
Hot Water Extraction Carpet Cleaning
What is hot water extraction, or steam cleaning?
Hot water extraction is often referred to as steam cleaning. Carpets are pre- treated with a product chosen specifically for that particular carpet fibre and its soiling.
This stage softens and breaks down stubborn spots and stains, as well as digests any unpleasant odours.
A mechanical brush is used to rejuvenate the pile and ensure that the pretreatment is worked evenly into the fibres. An extraction machine with industrial-strength vacuums and a solution pump is then used to rinse away the dirt and extract it into the recovery tank.
This can be done with cold water or heat of up to 110 degrees and is considered the most effective, deepest method of cleaning.
Our 7 stage cleaning process
- Inspection survey and testing. At RP Clean we like to look at each clean on its own merit. A detailed pre-survey allows us to quote based on all factors that are impossible to ascertain via telephone or Email alone. We survey the Carpet / Fibre types and how the relevant soiling/stains will be best treated.
We can also address any none-cleaning related issues for example; fitting, damages etc. This is the best way for us to do the best job for you. - Vacuum. This helps remove loose soil, debris and pet hair so that the pre- treatment works on bonded soils only increasing its effectiveness. Our weighted commercial vacuum cleaners pull soil from deep with the pile.
- Pre Spray. An appropriate cleaning product will be applied to the carpet using a spray machine. This product will breakdown soils and odours allowing them to be easily rinsed away.
- Agitation. A mechanical brush will work the cleaning solution evenly, deep into the pile. This rejuvenates the pile and assists the cleaning product in breaking down the most stubborn spots and stains.
- Rinse & Extraction. An extraction machine is used to inject a rinse into the pile and extract all the soil away using industrial strength vacuums. This will leave the carpet residue free, fresh and clean.
- Spot & Stain treatment. Sometimes stubborn spots and stains need additional treatment with specialist stain removal methods and products.
- Post clean inspection and aided drying. Most water used will be removed at the extraction stage of the clean but rooms will be ventilated and air movers put in place to further aid drying after rooms are completed. Final inspections will take place and any additional cleaning methods needed will be applied.
